Beginner Haṭha Yoga Course
In the Beginner Yoga course, the body is studied as a means to explore how to communicate with and understand its various components
In this course, the body – often only recognized during moments of pain or discomfort – becomes an object of exploration. It’s a journey to uncover the potential for dialogue and understanding of the body’s parts, especially through the movement of the joints, with a particular focus on the spine.
The primary tool is inner observation, which enables you to attune to the silent language of the body through the continuous flow of sensations. You’ll learn to recognize the subtle feelings that often escape a distracted observer and uncover the hidden messages that arise in each moment.
The practice combines dynamic sequences, static basic yoga poses, and breath awareness training. Together, these techniques help the practitioner connect with the body’s hidden life, using a conscious intention to explore its deeper layers.
These tools create a method for experiencing the body in all its parts, even those often overlooked, through beginner-level yoga exercises. Gradually, a creative intelligence awakens, leading to a deeper understanding of oneself.
This inner development becomes the essential method and support for gaining greater awareness of the more subtle, less visible aspects of our existence.
The lessons are taught by Barbara Woehler, available online and in-person at the Centro Studi Yoga Roma.
